Been installed for about 5 months now, works great for us, powering 2- 6” Pyle ceiling speakers in the kitchen & dining area, to spread the sound out from the main system in the living room.Couple of things: 1. the base and receiver are both powered with transformers and stay on all the time. Plenty of things in your house have transformers that stay plugged in & powered up continuously, but for this device, I wanted to power it down when not in use, to extend service life, etc. So I plugged the base transformer into the switched outlet on my a/v receiver. I do have to manually plug/unplug the receiver transformer in the laundry room, and there is a little “pop’ each time this happens, but not a big deal.2. Pay attention to speaker connections with a home theater/subwoofer type system. To get the best, full-range sound, the inputs need to be full range, which may take some finagling (this is not the fault of the Amphony device however). Since our receiver has the 7 “small” speakers (the “size” of the connected speaker is selected internally by the receiver) and a subwoofer, and no full-range line or speaker-level output, I had to use a Y connection from subwoofer output ALONG WITH the speaker-level inputs from the front satellite speakers to the base unit to get a complete, full range sound sent to the receiving unit for the kitchen speakers. When I connected everything using just the “small” size front speakers, the kitchen speakers sounded thin and tinny. But now they sound awesome! Hope all that made sense, GL!
